The aim is to have all 400 alternating current charging points in public and semi public spaces in operation by 30 September 2016. Further expansion will be carried out by 2020 in line with demand.
A rapid expansion depends on the speed of the district authorities' approval process. The requirements for the successful implementation of the concept has been put in place by the Berlin administration. An office responsible for the charging infrastructure takes care of the coordination and implementation. A harmonized application and approval process has been set up together with the relevant district authorities.
